Champion Iron reports fiscal second-quarter loss
Canadian iron ore producer Champion Iron fell into the red during the company’s fiscal second quarter, Kallanish reports.
Champion posted a loss of CAD 1.7 million ($1.29m) during the quarter on sales of CAD160.4m, despite a record quarterly production of 2.19m wet metric tons of iron ore concentrate. Concurrently, dry metric ton cash costs fell -11% from fiscal Q1.
Champion earned CAD 67.5m during Q2 2018.
