Turkish pipemakers reiterate flats import duty removal call
If the existing customs duty on feedstock imports is removed, Turkey will become one of the world's top three steel pipemakers, according to the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers’ Association (Cebid).
The duty on hot rolled flat steel import obstructs the procurement of raw materials at appropriate prices. This is one of the biggest problems for the domestic pipe industry, Cebid general secretary Mehmet Zeren tells local daily Haber Turk.
