Carrier decides against production shift to Mexico
US heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company Carrier has reversed its decision to shift about 1,000 manufacturing jobs to a Mexican facility, Kallanish reports.
Citing an as-yet unspecified deal between itself and the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump, Carrier says it will maintain its operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. HVAC companies are a major consumer of flat-rolled steel, particularly hot-dipped galvanized sheet.
