Carpenter introduces electrode surcharge
US specialty steel producer Carpenter Technology Corporation has become the newest domestic steelmaker to introduce a graphite electrode surcharge, Kallanish understands.
The new surcharge of $0.03-0.05/pound will apply to all arc-melted alloy grades, effective 30 November. The surcharge will be calculated as part of the standard monthly raw material surcharge.
