Chinas car steel demand drops 5.83% y-o-y in July
China’s automotive production and sales slumped further in July, according to the latest data from the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers (CAAM). Demand for steel from passenger cars was down -5.83% year-on-year that month, and weak commercial vehicle production means total demand was down even more sharply, Kallanish calculates.
