Canadian steel producers urge government action
The Canadian Steel Producers Association (CSPA) is urging the federal government of Canada to institute several actions in order to ensure that the nation's domestic steel industry remains competitive. According to the association, the market share of offshore steel imports to Canada has increased by nearly 20% over the past eight years, with imports currently accounting for nearly 40% of Canada's total steel market volume in 2022.
