Champion Iron restarts operations at Canada's Bloom Lake
Canada’s Quebec Iron Ore, (QIO) a subsidiary of Australian-headquartered Champion Iron Limited, says that it the first train has been loaded from the newly-reopened Bloom Lake iron ore mine near Fermont in Quebec.
The train was due to leave the mine site on 22 February, Champion says in a statement monitored by Kallanish. The first load was 16,500 tonnes of 65% Fe concentrate, separated at a plant on the mine complex.
