Canadian government offers Stelco funds for upgrades
The Canadian federal government plans to grant steelmaker Stelco CAD 49.9 million ($37.44m) to modernise its works in Hamilton and Nanticoke, Ontario, Kallanish reports.
The grant was announced in a press conference held at the Stelco works with company executives and government officials. The funds will help defray the cost of an on-going CAD 451m project, which is expected to ultimately create 75 jobs.
