CAMU targets China scrap usage hike in 2018
The China Association of Metalscrap Utilisation (CAMU) aims to raise China's steelmaking scrap usage from 11% in 2016 to 18% by the end of 2018 and 20% by 2020. In first-half 2017 scrap use has already increased to 14.8%. Currently China has 180 scrap processors with more than 60 million tonnes/year of scrap capacity, Kallanish notes.
