California Steel Industries increases sheet prices
California Steel Industries has raised its sheet prices by $70/short ton, Kallanish learns from market sources.
The move was in response to similar but smaller moves by domestic producers in the Midwest, says one buyer. The $70/st increase puts their final transaction prices in a competitive range – around $590-600/st for hot-rolled, he says.
“They were behind in their pricing,” he says. “This gets them to where the others are.”
