Bulgarian first-quarter steel production improves, domestic demand falls
Crude steel and rolled steel production in Bulgaria each rose in the first quarter. Domestic steel demand and exports, however, remained depressed during the period, the Bulgarian Association of Metallurgical Industries (BAMI) says in its latest quarterly report monitored by Kallanish.
Crude steel output reached 157,900 tonnes in Q1, an 11.9% increase over the same period of 2019 and 22.3% more compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
