India's BSE launches delivery-based billet futures contract
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has launched a delivery-based futures contract for grade “A” BIS standard carbon steel billet, with trading commencing on 23 July. The futures contract is designed jointly with the Steel User Federation of India (SUFI), while keeping industry participant needs and participation a priority, says the exchange.
The futures contract is expected to provide a risk hedging instrument to stakeholders, Kallanish notes.
