Brumadinho accident impacts Vale`s first-quarter output
Brazil’s Vale decreased its iron ore and pellet production in the first three months of 2019. This was mainly as a result of the impacts following the Brumadinho dam rupture and the stronger-than-usual weather-related seasonality, the company says in its first-quarter production report monitored by Kallanish.
Vale produced 72.9 million tonnes of iron ore in Q1. This is down -11% on-year and -28% on Q4 2018.
