British Steel lands extension to major rail-supply contract
British Steel tells Kallanish that it has landed an extension to a major UK contract for the supply of rails. The longs specialist has negotiated a 2-year extension to its contract with Network Rail, the company that operates and maintains the UK railway infrastructure, it confirms. The deal was rubber-stamped on 19 September at the transport exhibition InnoTrans in Berlin.
