Brazil’s steel exports, imports slow in September
Brazilian steel exports remain depressed. Shipments abroad fell for a third consecutive month in September, reaching a 12-month low. Imports also decelerated after rising sharply in August, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB)’s latest data, September exports fell 3.8% on-month and were 7.5% weaker on-year at 873,709 tonnes.
