Brazil’s September steel bar exports recover, imports slump
Brazilian bar exports grew sequentially in September, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data. Imports, meanwhile, decreased, Kallanish notes. The data includes iron and steel bar, along with angles, profiles and sections.
Brazilian bar shipments abroad totalled 61,700 tonnes in September, up by 10.7% m-o-m but down 26.4% versus the same month last year. The export value of these was $60.4 million.
