Brazil’s scrap exports rise in August
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports sharply grow in August, reaching a four-month-high, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data.
August scrap exports totalled 30,900 tonnes, compared to just 5,610t in July. This volume, however, was 34.3% down on-year. August shipments were the highest supplied abroad since April when the country shipped 71,900t, Kallanish notes.
