Brazil’s scrap exports dip in May
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports sharply down in May, reaching a 15-month-low, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data.
May scrap exports totalled just 26,200 tonnes, a fall of 63.6% compared to April and also 20.8% down year-on-year. This volume was the lowest supplied abroad since March 2021 when the country shipped 22,200t, Kallanish notes.
