Brazil’s scrap exports climb sequentially in September
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports jump sharply month-on-month in September, but they were still significantly down on-year, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish. Imports of the feedstock rose in September.
Scrap exports reached 73,500 tonnes in September, up by 56.4% compared to August`s 47,000t. Shipments, however, were down 24.5% year-on-year.
