Brazil pig iron prices jump, exports hit record
Brazilian pig iron export prices continue growing in January, Kallanish notes. According to market participants, during December 2020-January 2021 domestic levels rose by almost $105-110/tonne.
The increase was supported by persisting higher demand from China and the US, and lower pig iron availability in the Brazilian market. Sources say local producers have their order books full until April. The average pig iron export price stands currently at $530-540/t …
