Brazil’s May scrap shipments abroad fall

Brazilian ferrous scrap exports decreased year-on-year in May. These, however, remain positive in the first five months in 2020, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish. In May, exports of scrap were 51,600 tonnes, or -30.0% down from 73,800t in the same period of 2019. This volume was also -3.1% lower than in April.
