Brazil’s scrap exports reach 11-year-low in June
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports sharply down in June, reaching a 11-year-low, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data.
June scrap exports totalled just 12,800 tonnes, a fall of 51.1% compared to May and also 71.9% down year-on-year. This volume was the lowest supplied abroad since June 2011 when the country shipped 8,017t, Kallanish notes.
