Brazil’s monthly crude steel production reaches 20-month high
Brazil saw its steel performance strongly improve in June with crude steel output setting a 20-month high. This was the result of improved domestic market demand, Kallanish learns from local steelmakers association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
According to IAB, the sector’s June steel capacity utilisation reached 67.7%, up 3.5 percentage points from May and 7.1 percentage points higher year-on-year.
