Brazil’s July scrap exports remain lower
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports continue to fall in July, reaching an 11-year-low, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data.
July scrap exports totalled just 5,610 tonnes, a fall of 56.2% compared to June and also 87.5% down year-on-year. This volume was the lowest supplied abroad since June 2011 when the country shipped 8,017t, Kallanish notes.
