Gerdau concludes Silat acquisition
Brazilian long steel producer Gerdau says it has officially concluded the acquisition of rebar and wire rod producer Siderúrgica Latino-Americana (Silat).
The acquisition of the 96.35% stake, made through its Gerdau Aços Longos subsidiary, was possible after it fulfilled certain conditions, including approval by the country’s competition regulator, Cade. According to Cade, the merger between Silat and Gerdau did not raise competition concerns. …
