Brazil flats sales fall in April, outlook negative
Flat steel sales from Brazil’s distributors and service centres fell sequentially in April, Kallanish notes. Shipments in May are also expected to decrease by 5% month-on-month. National steel distributors’ association Inda, however, sees purchases rising by 14% after a weak April.
In April, distributors’ sales totalled 302,700 tonnes, down 20.9% over the previous month and 11.8% lower compared to 343,100t a year earlier.
