Brazilian prosecutor charges Vale for Brumadinho accident
Brazil’s Minas Gerais State Public Prosecutor's Office (MPMG) has announced that it has charged 16 people for crime and fraud resulting from the rupture of a dam in Brumadinho on 25 January 2019. Those being charged include former officials and executives from Vale and Germany-based testing group TÜV SÜD. The accident, at Dam 1 at the Córrego do Feijão mine, left 259 people dead and 11 missing, Kallanish notes.
