Brazil’s August semis exports rise, imports turn down
Brazilian exports of semi-finished products rose month-on-month in August, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data. Imports, meanwhile, decreased, Kallanish notes.
Brazilian semis shipments abroad totalled 636,000 tonnes in August, up by 3.4% m-o-m but down 8.6% versus the same month last year. Semis export value was 6.4% higher on-month and 128.9% more on-year at $618 million.
