Brazil’s 2020 scrap exports reach 12-year high
Brazilian ferrous scrap exports reached a 12-year high in 2020. Shipments, however, dipped in December to the lowest monthly tonnage since January 2019, according to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish.
Shipments of scrap were just 16,100 tonnes in December, -46.7% less compared to November and down -75.1% on-year. In January 2019 ferrous scrap exports had reached 15,600t, Mdic data show. 2020…
