Brazilian steel imports/exports increase again in July
Brazilian steel imports have continued to grow significantly on-year in the January-July period of 2017, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB). Exports also grew during the period, mainly due to the operational start-up of slab producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP), although activity in the domestic market remained low, the association says.
