Brazilian steel imports/exports grow, domestic market stalls
Brazilian steel imports rose significantly in the first half of 2017, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil. Exports also grew during the period, mainly due to the operational start-up of Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP), although the domestic market remained depressed, the association says.
