Brazilian steel imports/exports continue to rise in August
Brazilian steel imports grew again significantly both year-on-year and month-on-month in August, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB). Exports also rose during this period, mainly due to the operational start-up of slab producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP), although activity in the domestic market remained low, the association says.
