Brazil scrap exports hit four-year high in September
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports grow in September, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish. Shipments abroad were also higher in January-September.
Exports of scrap were 97,300 tonnes in September, 75.6% more compared to August and 19.7% more on-year. This was the highest monthly volume shipped abroad since May 2016 when Brazil exported almost 103,000t, Mdic data show.
