Brazilian semis imports hit 11-year high in May
Brazil saw its semi-finished products imports rocket in May to an 11-year high, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data. Exports, meanwhile, decreased sequentially for a third consecutive month, Kallanish notes.
The country imported 154,000 tonnes of semis in May, up by 118.7% on-month and 152,110t higher year-on-year. This volume was the highest in a single month during the last 11 years. Entries in May were also 93.…
