Brazilian scrap exports hit four-year high
Brazil saw its ferrous scrap exports increase sharply year-on-year in February, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish.
In February, exports of scrap were 88,100 tonnes, or 229% higher than the volume of 26,800t in the same period of 2019 and 75.3% more than in January. This monthly volume is the highest exported by the country since May 2016, when Brazil shipped 103,000t abroad, Mdic data…
