Brazilian pig iron exports/production climb in 2017
Brazilian pig iron production and exports grew year-on-year in 2017, according to data issued by the local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) and monitored by Kallanish.
Pig iron output totalled 28.42 million tonnes during last year. This was an increase of 8.8% compared to 2016. In December alone, Brazil produced 2.41mt of pig iron, or 9.8% more year-on-year.
