Brazil’s July scrap exports slip, imports remain high
Brazilian ferrous scrap exports fell slightly month-on-month in July. The volume was also far from the one shipped in the same period in 2020, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish. Imports of the feedstock, however, rose.
Scrap exports reached 41,600 tonnes in June, just 1.1% less compared to June’s 35,600t. Shipments were also 41% down year-on-year.
