Brazilian flats sales recover in January, outlook negative
Flat steel sales and purchases by Brazil’s distributors and service centres rose on-month in January, Kallanish notes. These, however, should move down in February, with an estimated fall of 15% month-on-month.
January domestic sales totalled 311,200 tonnes, up 21.1% on December and 4.3% higher compared to 298,500t a year ago.
Brazilian distributors purchased 319,800t of flat products during the first month of 2023, an increase of 31.7% on-month. …
