Brazilian flats sales grow in January, outlook negative
Flat steel sales and purchases by Brazil’s distributors and service centres rose month-on-month in January, Kallanish notes. The activity, however, should weaken in February, with an estimated decline of 3% m-o-m.
January domestic sales totalled 329,900 tonnes, up 25.1% from December and 6% higher compared with 311,200t a year ago.
Brazilian distributors purchased 344,800t of flat products during the first month of 2024, an increase of 25.9% on-month. …
