Brazilian flat product sales drop in May
Flat steel sales by Brazil’s distributors and service centres fell month-on-month in May, Kallanish notes. Shipments in June are expected to decrease by 6% while purchases are seen almost flat.
According to national distributor association Inda president Carlos Loureiro, non-traditional customers are once again normalising their direct purchases from steel mills after an improvement in supply following the resumption of blast furnaces.
