Brazil scrap exports hit 7-year high in September
Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports increased in September, achieving an 88-month high. Shipments also remained higher year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic), scrap exports reached 98,300 tonnes in September, compared with 64,700t in the previous month and 38,900t in September 2022. This is the largest tonnage supplied abroad since 103,000t in May 2016.
