Brazil-based SAM advances with ore project licencing
Brazil's Sul Americana de Metais (SAM) has advanced with its Projeto Bloco 8 iron ore project, Kallanish notes. SAM is a subsidiary of China’s Honbridge Holdings.
SAM has received approval from the National Mining Agency (ANM) for its Integrated Economic Development Plan (PIAE), valued at $2.1 billion. After years of discussions related to environmental issues, the project was restructured in the face of changes in Brazilian mining legislation.
