Brazil August scrap exports decrease on-year
Brazilian ferrous scrap exports fell both year-on-year and on-month in August, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data monitored by Kallanish. Shipments abroad, however, remain higher over the eighth-month period.
Exports of scrap were 55,400 tonnes in August, -27.5% lower compared to that in July and -19.7% y-o-y. Year-to-date, shipments of ferrous scrap totalled 524,748t or 27.0% more on-year.
