Bowim sales rise, costs, low prices depress profit
Bowim’s consolidated revenue rose 4% on-year in the third quarter to PLN 340.9 million ($87.8m), but net profit slumped -86% to PLN 397,513.
In the nine months through September the Polish distributor increased sales 5% on-year to 395,626 tonnes. This was driven by a 22% rise in sheet sales to 145,335t. Pipe and profile, and rebar shipments, however, declined -8% and -2% respectively to 75,140t and 71,335t.
