Bowim deliveries grow, profit plummets in first quarter
Bowim’s shipments rose 5% on-year in the first quarter to 131,982 tonnes, despite weakening steel demand, the Polish distributor says in a report seen by Kallanish.
Sheet, pipe/profile and rebar deliveries rose 3%, 6% and 39% respectively to 50,198t, 25,462t and 25,015t.
Consolidated revenue fell 9% on-year in Q1 to PLN 586.2 million ($139.1m) and net profit plummeted 95% to PLN 2.5m. Costs of energy and input materials nevertheless dropped by 17%.
