BMI maintains coking coal price forecast
BMI Industry Research has maintained its Australian coking coal price forecast for 2023 at $295/tonne, as prices remain elevated over tight supply amid strong demand from India and Japan, Kallanish notes.
The research house says in a note that it believes coking coal's price rally since July 2023 has slightly more room to run before stabilising.
Kallanish assessed premium hard coking coal prices at $342/t fob on 20 October.
