Bilstein converts process off-heat into electricity

German cold-roller Bilstein has begun to operate an Organic Rankine Cycle (OCR) system at its main plant in Hagen, Kallanish notes. The OCR system is integrated into the batch annealing section, the heat treatment process that brings back the steel’s formability after the cold-rolling process.
