Big River officially opens for business
After more than two years of construction and commissioning, Big River Steel’s flagship mill is officially open for business, Kallanish reports.
The Osceola, Arkansas, minimill will initially produce 1.6 million short tons/year of flat-rolled steel for the tubular, automotive and electrical industries.
Several expansions have already been planned, which will ultimately bring the mill’s capacity to 4m st/year.
