BHP's nickel production gains marginally in FY24
Global miner BHP's nickel production rose 2% year-on-year to 81,600 tonnes in the financial year ended 30 June, 2024 (FY24), Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that its Nickel West production was in line with the prior year. It produced a higher proportion of the lower-value matte products as a result of increased maintenance at Kwinana Refinery and severe weather events in March 2024.
