BHP sells Queensland coking coal mines to Whitehaven
Global miner BHP will dispose of its two coking coal mines in Queensland to coal miner Whitehaven Coal for up to $4.1 billion, Kallanish notes.
BHP says in a statement that the firm and Mitsubishi Development Pty (MDP) have signed asset sale agreements with two wholly owned subsidiaries of Whitehaven Coal to divest the Blackwater and Daunia mines.
